One of my day 3 highlights, Louise Goldin, produced some beautifully structured dresses, sending them down the catwalk in a variety of guises with leather and fur panels and patches. Sulky teenager/Goth models flounced out one after the other with their hair over faces and smudged black eyeliner in a procession of black and grey with the odd peeks of colour. In stark contrast, Mathew Williamson showed an elegant, ultra feminine collection of flowing capes and dresses, shimmering sequins, flowing silk and fur capped shoulders
At the Vivienne Westwood Red Label show there was more than one appearance by the label’s signature tartan in various shades alongside bold prints and some city pinstripes. The tailoring was classic British with the odd addition of softly shaped, rounded shoulders, harem-style pants and trousers with pockets so outrageously big they looked like tartan waders. Gloriously eccentric.
