CocoRosie

Described on their myspace as "Chinese pop / A'cappella / Drum & Bass" this American born duo, Sierra and Bianca Casady, appear to like to confuse and titillate and are certainly not fans of compartmentalising. The music they make is very Bjork, the vocals almost a perfect match, but their tracks don't really hark backwards so much as making you imagine this is what Bjork would sound like if she was to release another album. 'Raphael' is my favourite track, a haunting, melancholy ditty uplifted by what sounds like a harp and the singsong vocals that capture your heart whilst at the same time giving you a bit of a shiver. The sisters have three albums already under their belts and another due for release this year which will "continue exploring spiritual dance music, driven by oceanic and apocalyptic themes." CocoRosie are currently on tour in the US and hopefully will be gracing our shores with a tour very soon..
