Antonio Berardi and the modern glamazon

Antonio Berardi is a name synonymous with overtly feminine designs and a certain glamazon aesthetic with a modern twist. The Grantham born, Sicilian designer's A/W collection is a feast of uncompromising monochrome, sleek, body sculpted silhouettes and a waterfall of dripping, hand-sewn sequins, each piece screaming the kind of look-at-me-luxe that has attracted the attentions of Beyonce, Gwyneth and VB. These alpha ladies are all fans of the designer's powerfully feminine shapes and concepts as well as the constructed tailoring that gives the wearer a bit of a 'helping hand'(not that those three need it..). The thing I am loving the most about him at the moment is that whilst everyone from YSL to Balmain is doing angular, pointed shoulders, Berardi is working a soft, round raised shoulder, the kind of look where "if you pushed your sleeves up the shoulder would go up too."
