This coming Monday (24th) at Koko: Deerhunter, Health AND Crystal Antlers. Phew! that's a meaty platter of psych rock, ambient punk, lo fi, noise rock, "relentlessly energetic with crowd-pleasing stage antics" right there. What a treat for the day of the week that often feels more like a blow to the head from a rotten melon than another 24 hours of life to be enjoyed and savoured. I've seen Deerhunter twice now and both times their insane 'musicscapes' have caused me to completely lose my ability to remain vertical (I don't think it was just the gin). Despite spending the gigs clutching the fixtures of a nearby wall, I enjoyed them so and I hope to find myself in a similar state on Monday night..
