Jamie Woon - Night Air - Ramadanman Refix
Night Air (Ramadanman Refix) by woon
It's taken me far too long to write about this track. The crisp military tattoo of the Ramadanman drums against the enormous bass and slightly atonal synth perfectly cradles Jamie Woon's clear, soul-filled vocals. But it’s the warmth of the chorus synths in the 'Night Air Refix' that soar at the same time as that voice that is so spine tinglingly uplifting - serotonin in beat form.
Woon is smashing it in terms of recent collaborations with Burial having already provided a beautifully haunting remix of his 'Wayfaring Stranger’ and now this darkly lovely piece of sound. Ramadanman's beats are to Woon's vocals what marmite is to peanut butter on hot buttered toast – for me that’s pretty much a perfect 10.
