Paris Fashion Week Highlights

So last week it was the turn of Paris to host the perfectly groomed, Balenciaga-brandishing, Louboutin-shod fash pack as Paris Fashion Week got under way with a Gallic flourish. Alexander McQueen went for alienesque shapes and themes and shoes so high and treacherous you wince just to look at them. Pheobe Philo's sharp, sexily neat (oxymoron?) collection was the stuff of every woman's workaday dreams and Giles Deacon's invitations arrived as adorable inflatable dinosaurs.

I loved the Louis Vuitton show which seemed to be themed around some kind of cyber-punk-hippie-street-youth represented through models with giant afros and deconstructed outfits which were a combination of schoolgirl, streetdancer and Foxy Cleopatra all rolled into one. The Marc Jacobs designed collection was all about the accessories though with coloured moccasins on peg heels, acres of fringing, feather trims and fur tails giving us something to dream about through the long Winter months to come...
